Thanks for posting this. Pardon my ignorance, but can anyone attend this? I’d like to try and make it.

Hello Area 17 SFAC members please see the important update below.

It is anticipated that attendance for the spring 2025 SFAC meeting (scheduled for February 20th) may be significantly impacted by Canada vs USA 4 Nations final being played on the evening of February 20th. Deryk and I are currently looking at postponing the meeting to an alternate date to allow as much attendance as possible. Please keep an eye on your email for further updates in the coming days.

Thank you

Sincerely,

Mark Frisson

Hopefully, you guys had time to talk about the 5 options for Fraser summer 5-2 chinook. As that looks like it could potentially mean more chinook restrictions for area 17 to 12 and area 19-20.

First Nations are asking for more restictions

Yep and it was heard loud and clear its not a conservation thing. It is re allocation of our share of chinook to the First Nations sector on the Fraser. Has nothing to do with getting more fish to pass.

That is all I know right now but it's fairly serious. This would mean the end to our summer chinook fisheries on inside waters and also places like Renfrew, Sooke and Victoria. Closed out till Sept like Vancouver.

Hey @wildmanyeah maybe put this up on separate thread under Conservation so it is on everyone's radar.
