Splashwell Grommets

I need to replace my Splash well Grommets and was wondering if anyone's heard of a detatchable grommet, rather then cutting threw a solid unit? I'm trying not to have to disconnect major cables to the engine. Thanks. eman

I just opened my battery box and it was full of water
the split unit is not keeping the water out.

P.S. does a battery box have to be vented ?

You could try some Marine GOOP to seal up the split and ???, That stuff is magic. In fact it is one of the magic 4 for the boat and there are likely others.

If Marine GOOP, JB Marine Weld, Duct Tape or zap straps can't fix it, then it's probably not broken.

Yes.... But I seal the ones on the lid with sicaflex as I feel the battery will breath thru the 4 ports for the wires.

Yes you can buy them so you do not have to remove the cables. They are cut up the middle and over lap really well then you zap strap all the way down. If you want it more water tight run a bead of sicaflex down before strapping tight.
