Spawners in the lower mainland?

This post must have been a casualty of yesterday's hack, so here goes again.

I work in the film industry and have a director up from LA who has never seen salmon spawning and would like to drive somewhere relatively close by to see them this weekend. He's a good guy, and uncharacteristically (for a director) making my job easier, rather than more difficult, so I'd like to help him as much as possible. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Hyde Creek in Port Coquitlam usually gets a good return around now, I haven't been there lateley to see if they are in yet. I will try and go for a walk over there tonight to check it out.

Spawning channel on the stave has a few pinks and the odd chum

Chehalis hatchery channel has summer runs, pinks, the odd chum and coho

Weaver creek should be packed full of sox

This fish ladder on the cap has coho and springs

I will check for you but I think it is Kanaka creek and /or Alouette River in Maple Ridge that gets filled with chum around this time - x 2 on Stave spawning channels

Thanks for all your replies. I think I'll send him to Weaver creek, with the Chehalis hatchery on the way.

inch creek hatchery is pretty cool, they got a pool with a couple of big dino's in there... you stand on the dock and they swim two feet underneath ya. creepy and cool

Thanks, trophywife, Inch Creek is not too far out of the way; good combo!
