My Reply..

I called..One must be rich in order to use these guys to smoke your candy for ya. $5 a pound, plus $1 a pound for vac. baging. At $6 a 30 pounder will cost $180 plus tax. OUCH. It is done within 7 days though and must be picked up within 2 days of it being finished as they do not have a freezer.

I just clicked on the website link. Blank page comes up saying Account Suspended.

Fish Assassin: With Flurer Smokery Ltd. you pay for quality and workmanship as all fish processed is hand cut and boned. We will not freeze anyones fish as it takes away from the quality of the product in the end. Last year we worked with several sport and commercial fishermen, they all believe that freezing fish before and after smoking changes the fish to a sponge like quality. If you havent used us before don't put us down. We invite you and anyone else to come and tour our facility. Cheers!

Hey flurersmokery,
I bought a Bradley. Saved my money for other things. As for quality when you do it your self it is quality, and the workmanship is unreal. And the price.....You can't beat it. Plus at the end of the day you own your own smoker. I smoke my own cheese, nuts and meat now. There are so many easy recipes online.

I will repost this again from last year.

smokemasters

Smokemaster I think it was called has a sign in the window and the front door is locked. They must of stopped this year as we used them last year and the candy was great.

These guys didn't think ahead about there water and they dont have enough and it take from the local aquifer and is affecting there neighbors water to the point there wells go dry all the time now. There water is bad also so you like pink mould that is a zinc, and other stuff. Dont eat that fish gross....Steve is not friendly guy nor was he nice enough to talk to the neighbors to see if he idea of being there was going to work considering this demand for water.. he need to move from his location where there is good water. this water he uses is no even drinkable it might pass but it is gross. Smokemaster fish is contaminated with poor quality water that should no be allowed, its not even drinkable.

If you have the info I would certainly like to see it. I live in the area (less than 3 Km away) and would like to know more about the H2O in my area. I have had my water tested many times and all is fine, although there has never been any mention of glacier dust in our water, is that something you specifically have to ask to have tested, or do they report it if it is present in the test sample. You say it is nasty, what is it toxic? Is this common to this area or just in his well?? I have not heard of glacier dust in water before. Please report any info that you can, my kids drink our water, if there is something dangerous in it that I have to specifically have tested for, I would like to know what to ask the testing facility to test for.

Thanks in advance for your quick response.

the rdn has a map online that shows the aquifers. you can see the gray dirt in the water, no testing needed, most people in the area drink water from coombs. if you are on the coombs side then you are good

Is this the map that you are referring to??

If it is,,, it is not very detailed. It is hard to discern if he and I are on the same aquifer or not, we are very close to being on the same one if we aren't. At any rate if we are on the same aquifer, it appears to be a sand and gravel aquifer (which to my understanding do a terrific job of "filtering" the water), although they are susceptible to contamination from surface activities.

Perhaps I will stop by sometime and talk to him and take a look at his water to see if appears different than mine which is crystal clear and odorless.

I was also not able to find the test results (for his well details) that you had mentioned here in an earlier post. You also mentioned in this same post that you have testing results from this aquifer,,, could you post them up or send me a PM with them if you don't want to make public???

the glacier dust in the water is nasty too. I have picture of the pink stuff as well as the map on the rdn site showes that aquifer that he well is on and there is well details on the site too.. go pour some out of his outside tap and you can see for yourself. I have testing results from this aquifer too..
gross. I cant believe viha allows that and the Coombs Market buys it..

Happy to post all the info too?? How's that for back up??

CHEERS,

My well is dry because of him so I have to work and pay for a tonne of water. So now we know why you slagged the guy-- a water fight between neighbours-- and not really anything to do with pink water ???. I suspect that if things are as bad as you state, his business will go down anyway, so in the long term you dont have to worry.
