Single or Double Hook Hoochie

I think a single on a swivel holds them better and easier to release
Since going to the single on a swivel I've increased hookups and landing fish. Also noticed the hooks tend to be in the corner of the jaw.

I contacted DFO for clarification. Here is what they have sent me:

Concerning your question, I have broken it down to 2 sections:

Q: Is it permissible to use barbless treble hooks with artificial lures or bait?

A:When fishing for salmon in tidal waters, it is acceptable to use barbless treble hooks. Barbs must be pinched down sufficiently so as not to catch (cloth or fabric test is useful).

Q: Is it permissible to use to use artificial lures(“hoochies”) with tandem hooks, be they treble or single (barbless)?

A:When fishing for salmon in tidal waters, it is acceptable to use barbless treble hooks or barbless single hooks in tandem with a hoochie or similar lure. Two hooks used on the same bait or lure are acceptable, as long as the set up is not designed to catch more than one fish at a time.

Hope this helps,
