Rig 'em like this on a 42" leader make sure the trailing hook is well outside the skirt.Haven't used red hooks but did have a few glo beads around-can't hurt.

I think I recall that IronNoggin said he did extremely well with the copcar version.

Personally I have tried the copcar, blue splatterback and purple splatterback - caught fish on the purple splatterback only, but generally did not find these lures productive.

I suspect it is very important how these lures are rigged and I probably did not do mine quite right.

On the other hand I found the Silver Horde Coho Killer spoons very impressive - caught lots of fish on them. Only problem is they get straightened out when fighting a fish and need to be bent back in shape, which causes the paint to peel off.

cut the hook off the spoon, put on a split ring, swivel, and a new hook, trails a bit more behind the spoon but works fine and saves your spoon.
cheers ferret

I have tried four of the colors this year and each has caught fish for me ... cop car has caught both spring and and a few sockeye while in the sockeye schools, army truck has caught spring, and uv chartreuse and uv green have caught both spring and coho.

I have rigged them similar to Dogbreath's pictures above.

I've always had great success with the Ace Hi Fly ever since they came out a few years back. The hardest thing is picking the right color/pattern from all of the choices.

Here's a link that might help with rigging them. ** It's important to only put scent on the head and not on the body because it will ruin the fly.
