Sidney area

Where you going? I am going Sunday as well just not sure if i will stick around here or head out to Sooke? might be alot of boats out Sooke way and i am not sure if the weather will be ok? I have not been out here in a while but i hear there are lots of pinks around pender and a few coho hangin around.
I will be on 67 and 16

Was going to head over to Fairfax and then head to Pender and see whats happening. I haven't fished Pender before, I take it you just head east of Bedwell entrance along the wall, is there a good contour line to follow?

Depending on where you fish at pender there are a couple reefs to watch for. 1 just west of wallace Pt and another near the NW end of the the island other than that follow the contour.I have managed a few springs fishing the bay west of the White marks on the bluff...you will know what i mean when you see it. Or a few Coho in the tide lines outside bedwell.
 
was getting a few out a couple tide lines, that was a week ago. My buddy was cruising out to Pender for lunch and seen lots of jumpers (that was 2 days ago)
 
fished wymond pt from 5am (still dark) til 11am. released 1 6lb spring and clubbed 1 hatch coho,1 pink.
then onto saanichton spit/island view beach for the rest of the day only to release a couple shakers and lose 1 that we never did see....
Loads of feed and herring balls all over the place.
Used white/green hootchies and purple haze hootchies..too many dogfish chomping up our bait!
 
Headed out to Pender on Sunday morning, lots of boats fishinbg bluffs. Started the kicker but it wouldn't go into gear, the lever was loose and wouldn't engage, felt like the linkage had broke. Ruined my morning as the main engine on idle is just too fast, so we ended up being the only boat out there jigging! Got a couple of pinks but lost them at the boat, one nearly jumped in the boat! Saw lots of pinks being caught. Was a beautiful calm day so it wasn't all bad.
 
Anyone out in Sidney/Pender over the weekend? Heading out on Thursday with some visitors and wondering if it's worth making the trip over to Pender or just stick around Wymond Pt./James Island area.

Fished between saanichton spit and james island for couple hours tonight right on the bottom (115ft) hit 1 nice Spring around 12 pounds but lost it behind the boat as I forgot the net in the front lawn![xx(]
Used tiny strip and glow red flasher. Back out after work this week sometime.......

Anyone been out Sidney way in the last week or so? Weinstein? Might give sidney channel or coal Island a shot this weekend.

Nope not been out in a while, been winterizing the boat, she is all tucked up for the winter. Won't be going back out till March/April time.
