Sidney area

Headed out to Fairfax this morning fished it from 7am - 10am, no fish, couple of bites, 3 other boats out there didn't see them with any fish. It's was blowing good in the morning and it was hard to keep the boat on track. Should have headed to Wymond with you this morning Twinwinds.

Then headed to James Island and fished the Powder Wharf, caught one coho and had another bite, I need to start using a trailer hook! Then fished Wymond and Hamley, nothing on the sounder and just one massive doggy from there. The wind died down and it turned into a beauty day.

Was at Wymond at around 3pm at the tide change. What depth were you fishing in the morning? I tried to stick around the 100ft mark and fish off the bottom.

I fished 80-90 ft in roughly 100-120 ft of water from Wymond over towards the rock on the middle of Hughes Pass.

I cruised by Saanichton spit on the way in and it was loaded with feed, herring balls all over the place. Would have fished for a bit but it was blowin its butt off and i had to bring kids to the Parade in Sidney....:D

Anyone fishing out here lately? hows the crabbing? Thinking about an evening trip to the bluffs on friday and wondering if it's worth the gas.

the only time i hit the bluffs is when the pinks are running way too early yet for them. lots of other places closer that are good for springs.
