You can use the "Line of sight calculation" to get an idea how far you or your radar can see
1.17 x the square root of Hieght of eye
Radar Hieght = 9ft
1.17 x 3 = 3.51nm is radar distance
So if your target has a radar reflector also at 9 ft hieght, the distance you can see him on your radar(in ideal conditions) would be 7.02 nm
Just to show the higher up your radar reflector farther you will be picked up by another vessel
