search underway

Ya on Radar 24 yesterday I saw a US Airforce C130 flying patterns off Neah as well as Dolphins. Saw the DFO Dash 8 off Renfrew. And a US Airforce Guardrail out further as well. Sad. Must be an opening in Washington cause I’m down here a see a few boats out.

I was going to ask what the conditions were like, but I'm guessing one bad move and a rogue wave in that sized boat can be deadly. This is really sad.

THIS is very very sad I am always worried about lil boats like this as alot of times they dont realize how bad conditions are. and wait to long.
Those boats are not meant to go off shore one bad wave and that front end fills up like a bath tub unfortunatly.
I saw a guy that took a greeny into there and he almost lost it in very bad conditons.
PLEASE people the ocean will kill you in a heart beat she needs to be respected....

I was in Ukee one summer and a well known fishing show host was telling a guy in a 17’ boat he needed to go 5 miles out to catch fish. Stupidest thing I’d ever seen.

The Coast Guard has suspended its active search and rescue operations for the missing boaters off Neah Bay after an extensive search that covered an area of roughly 850 square nautical miles over 28 hours. The 64 year old female from the boat was recovered Thursday, April 17, and pronounced deceased. The two males, ages 63 and 69, remain missing.

It always intrigues me how we all have a completely different interpretation of what constitutes risk.

In my wildest dreams I wouldn’t even think of going out into the Straits with 3 people in a boat that size though I’m guessing the owner did that all the time….

TOTALLY agree with this statement , unfortunatlly some think they can do anything, YOU have to respect the ocean.
Ill add just the other day a fellow guide and myself were salmon fishing back to pedder Id say it was west 20 totally ok for our boats I look up theres a guy in a kayak fishing WTF.....

All I can say this happens EVERY year now, RIP fellow boaters... only thing positive is they were out doing something they loved ...
