Seals vs Salmon, Determining Predation Rates

PSF is doing some tremendous work on the whole impact of seal predation. I think they are onto one of the key reasons for a decline in ocean survival. Another part of the problem is our hatchery programs have released a huge influx of food into the ecosystem like clock work with our current smolt release strategy. Now you see the seals lining up like the bald eagles do in the fall for the spawning adults. Of course part of the real problem will be garnering the support to address the exponential seal population...can you imagine the cries if there was a seal cull approved!

Cute but if they had done some checking with hatcherys like the one on the puntledge they could have read all the science done there.
Seal predation is proven and they did this on the puntledge.
Killing them solved the problem. However they stopped that and the problem came back.

Killing seals seems to a no, no.
So, anyone who thinks that this is ever going to happen is on serious drugs.
