Scotty 241 deck mount

Do you guys find the Scotty 241 deck mount fitting wear out eventually ?
I can 't seem to make the rod holders lock into place anymore and wonder if the
grips are wearing out ?

how many times have you installed your rod holders....lol

check the locking nib on the rod holder as it drops down into the groove and are your seating them fully down
as we have rod holders that are porb 20+ yrs and still perform

and are you using scotty's holder not fish -on type ?

Iv`e got a couple of 344 flush mounts that Iv`e been using for years, and they seem to be fine.
The locking mechanism should be the same on both.

I had a problem with mine and replaced them last season. The little plastic nub inside the mount wore down allowing the rod holder to slide over it.
Luckily didn't lose a holder over the gunnel as it would pop out completely with a fish on.

the little nubs at the bottom were out quick I just drill a access hole opposite and skrew a small stainless screw in the side out to the same height as the nub last for many years
