Salt water tackle

Pacific Net & Twine in Parksville.

Harbor Chandler in Nanaimo.

Gone Fishing Port Alberni.
Gone Fishing has locations in Nanaimo and Duncan that I like to support as well.
Living on the South Island has the benefit of easy access to great tackle stores including the odd foray to Trotac or Island Outfitters in Victoria.
Even before all the political nonsense I did my best to avoid Cabela’s/Bass Pro in favour of supporting local merchants.

I agree with supporting local/smaller business over Cabela’s / Bass Pro if possible. I’ve had a couple poor experiences, your just a number in the world of big business to that crew.
Best yet is good used gear when you can find it, supporting a fellow outdoorsman and saving the 12%.

What's your location?

I've driven straight from gone fishing to Cabela's in Nanaimo and the tackle I had looked at in gone fishing was 5-10% more expensive. I'd certainly rather support local and I honestly think you will get a better price at the previously posted retailers not to mention much service and selection.

I believe you're saying Cabela's had the higher prices? That has been my experience and for Canadian Tire as well.
I've found all the local shops listed above to be more than competitive along with being able to offer better service and knowledge.

Yes Cabela's and Canadian Tire are not the best prices or best knowledge or service.
