Salt water fishing

Hi forum members. I coming too the island from Yellowknife in the first week of May too visit my father. I would like too get a day of salt water fishing in. Anybody have a idea of what type of fishing is going on that time of year and have a recommendation for a charter boat out of Parksville or close too Parksville. Thanks in advance for any local knowledge.

Chinook fishing in May is usually good.. so is lingcod. No lack of guides around too.

May is a great month in our area with good numbers of 10-20 lb Chinook and Lingcod. I will be guiding locally out of Nanoose Bay during May and will PM you with some more info.

Depending on what day they decide to open it up for Ling Cod retention in areas 14 and 17.
