Hello, i'm fairly new to salmon fishing on the island. I was wondering what the best source of info for whats running when would be. Thanks

depends on what area but June to Sept is the main season for Chinook

Good fishing in May around central eastern Island.
Sockeye fishing in the Port Alberni canal starting mid to late June.
June - September has great fishing around the entire Island.
October is a great time to fish for Coho outside Port Renfrew.
October is also a great time for Chum fishing just north of Campbell River.

I went with a gear rod. I'm going to spend as much time as I can in a canoe unless theres to much current. thanks
