Rowing skiff found-- but no rower....

That's crazy! It sure does seem like a long way for a boat to drift in that short of time,taking into concideration the
opposing flood and ebb tides that occur everyday.
 
That is an average of 35 km's per day or 22 miles. Over a 24 hour period that is just under 1 mile per hour. Sounds possible to me.
 
You are not factoring in the tides..The boat would not be heading south all day

And it seems to me that you may not be factoring in the predominant NW wind we've had. 1MPH average speed on the surface due to wind, doesn't seem that crazy to me. Sure the tidal currents go back and forth but the wind is much more directional.
