I fished that weekend last year but was not entered in the derby. What is up this year? Where to register? Is it the first weekend of October?

I am in. register at the .arina by nine AM saturday, best the friday before.

I'll be workin all this week so should have something dialed in,will let you know where they are. The last couple days it's been slow but steady . Hootchies down deep. Big swell out there as well

Hey Jackel I've been chasing them but not up on reny. By the sounds of the weather I might get tues weds off and I'll be up there so will give it a go!

I've heard from a surfing wevsite that huge waves are headed to Jordan River and Port Renfrew tomorrow morning so we are going to delay our coho trip to Renfrew for a day or two. I would be interested to hear if this prediction turned out to be true. I'm thinking that it might be impossible to navigate the mouth of the river tomorrow due to to the huge projected surf. Can someone report back and let me know how conditions turn out tomorrow. Thanks

We're coming--2 boats, 2 cabins at Gallaugher's and 6 guys--should be great! great coho weather for the derby--lots of rain this week to bring them in and then sun on the weekend for the derby! Sweet!

Nice call what website did you get that information from and how is the surf looking for the weekend? If you check out the renfrew thread bananas gave this update today

"Wow hope the water lays down a bit . Today there was 10 ft breakers at the river mouth. Had to cancel my trip. Laperous was 23ft and neah bay was 18ft . Gonna try again in the am but me thinks it will be another no go. "

As for the coho derby I will be there.

Whats a ticket worth this year? Any bigger ones showing up in the last couple days?

New to the island and have not been to Renfrew yet, but thinking of going there for the derby this weekend.... Is it a gong show for the derby usually? Or more quiet this time of the year?

25$ 20 into prize money winner takes ALL, 5$ goes to the local hatchery. It can be a gong show but there is lots of ocean out there most of the show comes as you try to launch or pull out. That said it should be lots of fun, I will be out with good fishing buddy dss in the finaddict.
