Recommendation for fishing Oct 5th 2022

Hello bc. I'm visiting my son who now lives in Victoria oct 5th for 10 days.
I'm from Delaware and fish saltwater avidly.
Need recommendations for getting on the water to fish while there. Any suggestions would be appreciated I probably only have time for one or two outings so trying to refine my adventure.

Sooke for coho. It’s a blast. @profisher and @wolf are a couple of the most respected guides in the area. You won’t be disappointed

I would recommend Coho fishing out of Sooke. In Oct DFO open up Coho fishing to retain 1 wild and three clipped Coho per person per day. But check the regulations, thing are always changing.
In the first week of Oct, is it not un common to hook up 35+ times in a 6 hr trip.
Try to fish as close to Oct 1st as you can because the fish are moving past here to their spawning grounds. By Oct 10 most of the fish have moved on specially if it raining allot.

I'm also interested in fishing from shore as I don't think I'll convince anyone to charter more than one day. Any suggestions for shore fishing or good sites to research shore fishing would be great. I'm somewhat familiar with salmon /halibut fishing as I have family in Kenai AK
Really looking forward to exploring the area in and around Victoria.
