Rallying Support for Rain City (cancer diagnosis)

Hey all,

Thought I'd throw out an update on here since so many of you were so supportive and encouraging through all of this. I can't tell you how much all of that has helped me through some pretty trying moments. So thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Although I'm not out of the woods yet, after reviewing the results from my latest bone biopsy and pet scans, my Oncologist believes the chemo has done it's job. It's been about 6 weeks since my last treatment and I'm already feeling 10000000x better. Gained some weight back, got a face tan, hair coming back all over. Sadly not on top of my head though 😣😉. I've been able to get back to golfing and just recently a little bit of tennis, it feels like a miracle. I'll be closely monitored with scans and bloodwork for the forseeable future. But for now I'm ready to celebrate this victory.

So thank you all so much again and I hope to see some of you out on the water.

Tight lines, and hug your kids ❤️

Jon.

Good for you bud.

Very good news! Going through prostrate cancer treatment myself (all good so far) so news like this is nice to hear.
I know what you mean man. It's hard to ignore the bad stories but there are plenty of positive ones too. I'm trying hard to focus on those. I know that hearing them helped me a lot when I was in it. Good luck with your treatment.

On that note, I know there are a few guys on here that are hard in it right now as well. Keep fighting, all of you.

Always great to hear good news from the C front. I have a buddy here who's in the thick of treatment for lymphoma, and I'm heading back to Aus in a few days to see mum before ovarian cancer takes her. Thanks so much for shifting the balance back to the positive!
