Radar tower lean, aft vs fwd and radar advice

Good placement for the radar. I've got the same placement you do.......MFD for charts---port side dash board. Radar...right in front of my nose

Did you confirm whether that new Raymarine unit has doppler?

.

The raymarine setup is salmonkillers on his 22 Seasport. I bought the simrad halo20 with a simrad mfd. it’s still being setup. I’m a bit hung up on the new radar mount. I have maybe 24” of clearance from roof to boat shelter opening. I’d like to have the anchor light that goes with the various mounts. Just trying to figure out the configurations.

ill be installling that new system next week when I put boat in my shop where its nice and warm,

Decided to go with the Seaview 5” fwd leaning radar tower with light bar and anchor light. You also need to buy the mounting plate that sits on top of the tower and accommodates the dome. It has the different bolt patterns printed out on its top for all the various domes and arrays.

What does the light bar look like?
That looks great, I was considering that set up, my aft leaning seaview mount shades my solar panels. Very nice.

The light bar is in the pic above with the anchor/ running light inserted. They are Seaview LTBR and the light is LTBLED12c5 (comes in white or black).

Right, I was thinking of the flood light bar like you would use for the dual antenna setup which is available on the aft leaning Seaview.

I went with the same mount except I went for the black as my radar dome is black, I purchased from stock4less in the US and it was a few hundred less than I could find anywhere else.
They come with a nice water proof cable gland and brass tubes used for drilling the rubber, took me a while to figure it all out but I finally got everything installed and working, unfortunately I did rip the top rubber gasket thingy that fits in the adapter plate while trying to fit the 2 cables through, I should have used some silicone grease to help the cables through, hopefully I can get a new one, even though it doesn’t seem critical if a bit of water gets in as it just runs out the channels in the bottom.
I purchased all my new stainless 8mm bolts from Pacific Fastners with over sized Phillips heads and nylock nuts in 316 stainless.
The Seaview mounts are really nice quality, I’m glad i went with Seaview.

Here are some more progress pics.
Drilled the 4 holes for the plate and mount around the old 1.5” hole from previous mount. The bottom plate has drain channels that will drain away any water that would happen to get into the mount, which is not likely. Drilled out the waterproof gland that cables run through to get into cabin. So far no screw ups 😬

Here are pics of the dry fit. Will be doing the final fit with sika flex for the adhesive/sealant, anti seize on fasteners.
