Thanks in advance for any info.
I recently was given a PVT-18 PAC table top vacuum sealer (1994), it is very heavy, industrial and requires a compressor to run! I really thought this would be the answer to sealing a large quantity of fresh fish as it is made for production (even has a foot pedal).
The first try it worked but was not all that impressed, it worked but did not suck all the air out, it looked almost as though the bag was getting sucked into the nozzle and blocking air flow. So I purchased some thicker bags online but still not working like I think it is supposed to. I also have tried pre-freezing the fish, lots head room in bag, several different bags but still not great seal every time.
I'm hoping either someone has some experience with this style unit and can lend some advice or perhaps if it is not made for this application I'm interested in selling it. Thanks to those of you who have read through this.
