Puerto Rico Police Boat Operator Error

Video footage of a PR Police centre console boat almost rolling in the waves and then hitting the rocks and wiping out the legs on the outboards. The boat's ability to stay upright is quite impressive. 34' SeaVee.

The aftermath

That's why they use triple and quadruple outboards! They can wipe out a few and still have some propulsion.
Operating in 'foamy' water worries me, I can just hear the props cavitating.
Glad nobody was seriously injured while getting schooled by the ocean.

Hindsight being 2020 and all, I would have tried full reverse to get behind the crest of the wave rather than attempting to bring the bow around like a surfer. Surf boards have no draft, unlike the hull of a CC. Next time I'm in that particular situation I will keep that in mind. ;)

Also, don't f*** around with hundreds of thousands of dollars of boat like a fool in the surf near a rocky shoreline lest you are proven one.

i watch ed the video a few times.. surf can do incredible things too a large boat, they missed one opportunity to power out of it and once that window was gone , they got surfed right into the reefs. scary ****!

I saw that video on Instagram last night. The police were trying to save some parachuters that landed in the water and they were drowning. I'm not sure if they made the recovery.

wow. i guess the taxpayers will need to pony up for another set of outboards and transom.
your tax dollars at work.
