Primerica....Good? Bad?

I have a friend who has suddenly decided to try to start a new venture in selling insurance and other financial products through Primerica. He has been quite persistent and won't really take no for an answer regarding us allowing him to bring over his "recruiter" to our house and talk to us for an hour about our finances and insurances. It seems like they try to use these new recruits to gain trust and access to their friends and family.

Does anyone out there have any good or bad things to say about this company and/or scheme?

Primerica is one if not the largest independent finance companies in the world. They are a legit and are publicy traded company ( a very successful one at that). Scam? Hardly. However they have an MLM platform. MLM companies get labeled as scams is because 95% of people who jump on the bandwagon of "potential success" fail. Being successful in an MLM company takes an unbelievable amount of drive, self confidence, persistence, and self motivation. Ever hear a quote something like "less then 1% of the worlds population has 99% of the money" or something along those lines? That is because most people aren't cut from that cloth, and will do what it takes to be successful.

Disclaimer: I have no experience with Primerica either as an employee or as a consumer. However, I do know who they are and researched them a bit a few years ago.

To the Op, The "not taking no for answer" although annoying to some, is the key to sales. Persistent sales people always out preform passive ones. For every one person you **** off from being to persistent, 5 others write you checks. People are procrastinators by nature, and If it wasn't for persistent sales people most people would never make a decision. Most MLM's are based on referrals, that is how you make money. You get some people to sign up, you get them to sign up some people and so on, and the residual income starts to pour in all while helping these people with their finances(in this case) Seems like a win to me. And starting with your family in friends is a no brainer. ( beats knocking on doors) I would imagine that the better your investments do, the more they make. IWhile I don't know anything about how there investments preform, or how their insurance works or if its even competitive, id at least let the guy come talk to you. What do you have to lose?

lastly if you can find a REALLY good, investor/insurance broker that doesn't work on commission, I have a bridge to sell you. Cause they don't exist!
