Prawning - setting up a trap

I'm looking at getting prawn trap but I'm a bit lost on how to rig it up.
Any tips or advice on how to set a prawn trap up is greatly appreciated.

yep lots of good info over the last year or two. Pretty easy buy leaded rope 450 feet buy a trap or two, buy a bouy put 10 pounds of weight in front of your traps so that the bouy dosen't pull your traps on the bottom. Throw in some cat food or prawn bait and your fishing.

Just make sure to attach the elastics between the three entrances inside the trap or you will not catch prawns . We made this mistake for the first few times LOL. I recommend the leaded line over the polly and bait bags seem more productive than containers. Use a big float, good luck.

If you are using a big float you might want to have a weight in front of your first trap if the wind is blowing. The waves will bounce the first trap scaring away the prawns.
