Prawning.....Do Tides Matter?

A question for the successful prawners. Do tides matter....do you prefer a flood tide soak or ebb tide soak....or does it matter at all?

I think it does, i like an hour or 2 before slack, let it soak, and pick up afterwards. A slack tide also helps SO much on the accuracy of your trap drop, a current can carry it 100m+ away from where you throw it in, its like a big sail going down.

I prefer the last two hours of the flood and the high slack it has been my experience that the prawns move more with less current to buck in the Sansum area as the flood tide is weaker than the ebb.

I almost always find that the prawns are much fewer during a larger tide. Less tidal movement= more prawns.
