power pro d/r line

Thinking of changing too. I would also love to see a picture of one rigged at the end. You don't use a stopper do you?

After switching I will never to back to s/s. I use a Palomar knot to connect the line to a Scotty snubber which is connected to a loop of parachute cord which is attached to the ball. The nice thing is you don't need crimps and therefore re-tying is a one minute job.

With regard to the auto-stops on the line, I've found that the red Scotty ones do tend to slip so after I've attached them to the dowrigger line, I 'weave' in another short piece of the dowrigger line (the tag end from the Palomar knot typically) throught the stop and tie it off at both ends with an overhand knot.

One other thing, I found that adding 'backing' to the rigger before adding the PPRo on the spindle increases the diameter of the spindle and improves the uptake of line - plus in a catastrophic event where a lot of line if lost you have more to use for the day. I used a large spool of Tuff Line and added about 300ft of line to each rigger.

I am thinking about switching over too.

Would it be possible for one of you guys to post a photo of your braided line set-up to see exactly how you do it? Thanks.

Long live wild salmon!!!

you really don't need the autostop beads, just tie a crane swivel
to the braid and then to a 3-4' section of green ganyon line to the
cannon ball clip.
the swivel takes the place of the stopper bead, and it can never move
or get knocked off.
