It has been quite a few years sense I have been to the North Island and was wondering if some of you might be able to recommend some good locations to purchase both ethanol free fuel for the boat and bait in the Port McNeill/Cluxsewe area. I will be up fishing those parts in about 10 days and would prefer to spend my time on the water instead of looking for supplies. Thanks for your imput.

Not sure if the fuel dock in McNeill has ethanol fuel or not, but it might.
As far as anchovies and tackle go, I go to shoprite marine. They always have bait, although they commonly are out of large 6 inch anchovies.
There is timberland sporting goods too in Mcneill right across the street, never bought bait there, but they do have tackle also.

The fuel in McNeill is Ethanol free, but pricey as is most areas up here. It is around $1.10/l right now.
Bring your own chovies, I was told today a from a few guys that there is a very limited supply of them up here.
Get Chart #3546. You can get them up here at Shoprite or stop in at Tyee or RS for them.
For tackle, stop in at Ideal tackle, just over the bridge on your left when leaving CR. Best prices, good selection and if you pay cash, well I will leave it for you to find out.....

I just wanted to say thanks to those on this forum who gave me some help in planning my trip to Cluxewe and Telegraph Cove. Will be picking up my parents in Vancouver tomorrow and then off to the North Island with my family and Parents. Hoping to get my son into his first 20+ spring. His younger sis will be happy to catch a couple of pinks. Will be in Cluxewe til the 28th. Then to Telegraph Cove til the 3rd. Will let you know how it went when I return. Thanks again for the info.
