Port alberni boat launch

Has anyone used the launch behind port boat house? Heading out next Friday and it sounds like Cluxewi is a bit of a traffic jam these days
Or any pointers? Launch at 2am?

The launch back there has no dock and if you are trying to pull your boat in the afternoon when it blows in the inlet, it can blow right in there and make it pretty difficult to get your boat out.

Not that bad at the river launch. The beauty about that launch is your motors get flushed and the trailer does not go in to salt water.

Probably not if you go early. Weekdays are slower.

I think at this point we want to launch by 3-4 pm Friday. Worked messed up the early launch so we are staying until Monday. Might be a bit sporty but at least we know it will get calmer the further we run.

Its not that bad just look out for logs. It usually a biatch around Nihmint and gets better as you pass the log dump.

How's the river launch on a negative tide? Is it still do able or does the ramp drop off?

I used the launch by Port Boathouse for years. It's very decent although as noted watch for wind and logs on ramp. Usually no problem
