Porlier Pass in August?

Porlier seems to be one of the few areas open on the central east coast of the Island, with local closures taking effect on August 1st. I am launching at Crofton, and this seems like a logical distance for a morning fish.

Is it worth fishing Porlier this time of year? Where around Porlier would somone fish with success? It makes me wonder, considering they didn't close the area.

Go to "search" in the upper right corner and look for "Porlier Pass" this has been discussed many times in the past.
Lots of seals !

Your a little late for Porlier at this time of the year , springs will have moved in to the Sansum narrows /Cow Bay / Bold Bluff area.
You can still go for the stragglers on the East side of Galiano , try fairly deep with a green and white hootchie to start, if the weather starts to improve keep an eye out for the NW winds to come up in the afternoon.
