I'm thinking about towing a trailer up to Poet Nook for the summer - never stayed up there, what's it like? Any thing to be concerned about? Are there any similar places on the inlet? How far from Lake Cowichan?
it is known as a quiet fishing place... usally no fires except for at the "pit", good services, fuel, showers and bathrooms are clean..docks are awesome.. give it a go.
I have only done this once. Like others have said once you are there you will love it. The people are great. Depending on the time of year the road will cause you some issues. It takes 1 and a half hours - 2 hours while towing a boat. If you take it slow and pay attention it is not a hard drive. Your boat will be 100% covered in dust once you arrive though. Alot of people run the cannal with their boats. Best docks around though.
Fogducker is your best source of info on the nook. shoot him a PM
