The Pink migration seems to be either very late or worse, not coming in the numbers predicted. Can some of you guides or hardcore's give some reports of what you are seeing? Mainly interested in the Hardy, McNeil, Johnson Straight & Campbell River areas but any info would help build a picture of what's going on.
Thanks

Lots of pinks on the west side. I thought this was an off year for the east side so low numbers would be expected?

Tips

Should be lots of fish from the Cluxewe south-most rivers between the Clux & Nile get pinks every year with Even years being most dominent further north and odd years dominent further south. Strange how it works. The Fraser run usually travels through the inside in big numbers as well-odd years only. With this last cycle of prime ocean conditions, pinks should have a high escapment. At least that's what DFO forcast.

Test fishing results for 1 set by Chatman point 6 Aug was 1010 sockeye, 2108 pinks and 4 chums. ope that helps, it looks like they are on their way down. Tight Lines,..........BB

Is that a good sign for Sockeye? Are they late or is DFO still downgrading the mid summer run?

Those test results are not good at all. I have seen then in the tens of thousands......for weeks at a time. (for 1 set)

West side is excellent comparibly speaking ( years past ) inside is always better on the odd year. Although there still should be better numbers than we are hearing for Strait of Georgia at this time.
