Petition to the House of Commons

Here's the link to the parliamentary procedures regarding petitions

Here's section specifically addressing how many electronic petition signatures are required to validate and certify a petition. Once a petition has over 500 signatures it allows the sponsoring MP to present the petition to the House of Commons - so an effective way to at the very least have the sitting government, and presumably responsible Minister hear and understand issues being petitioned.

Signatures

For certification, the threshold for valid signatures is 25 for paper petitions and 500 for electronic petitions. To be valid, the signature must be that of a Canadian citizen or a resident of Canada.42 There is no minimum age requirement for anyone signing a petition, and one person cannot sign for a group.

We need every MP in every area in BC to support this and make petitions. They just need to focus on the factual data in these petitions.
