pender island salmon

going out to pender island with some buds august 15th and hoping to target some salmon. Anyone having any luck out there? What species should I be targeting (if any) and what should I use?

I have a little salmon experience but being from the prairies I know hardly anything compared to you west coasters. Any help is appreciated.

Pink Salmon off the Pender Bluffs in August. Use pink mini hoochies behind a red flasher 28" leader.

ya the pender wall should be gang busters for pinks by then, just fish 30-90 feet with pink squirts and you won't miss.

Managed to get a few pinks today....deep 70-90ft.

On another note I hate the 40-80ft yachts flying out of poets cove at 30-40 knots and coming within 30-50 ft of us. Even my 6yr old Son was asking what the hell was wrong with them! A** holes!..[xx(]

Well fishing wasn't too bad,caught a couple of 4 lb pinks. First one was caught 30 feet down and the second was caught at 60 feet. Caught both using pink hootchies.

I was hoping to do more salmon fishing then what I did but my friends didnt have the same patience for it and wanted to do a lot of bottom fishing instead. All in all a great time still. Maybe next year I'll be able to soak the salmon lines for a bit more then a couple of hours.
