Peak to Peak-Whistler Blackcomb Gondola

With my new job taking me to Whistler several days a week I'd planned to do the P to P later in the year (since I'm not a big snow fan) but a guest offered to pay my way so today was the day.

What a Day it was!!!!

Unlimited visibility and the Coast Range has never ever looked so good.

The sunshine so intense sometimes my sunglasses seemed like clear glass.

Mister Man if you've never been you owe it to yourself to go-Yes I know it's pricey but if you're looking for a getaway or have people visiting this is a can't miss-you'll never regret it that I can guarantee.

ooooh that gondola is pretty wild. I managed to fanagle myself onto the one of two cars with the small glass floor....not what you hope it is (its a small 2x2 viewing window) but a pretty crazy trip over the mountain valley.

Theres a group of i think 12 resident black bears roaming around that arn't to hard to spot when making your way up to the peak. worth the trip once for sure. the engineering is pretty mind boggling..

Yeah we waited for the glass floor car it was OK but we took the regular unit back- if you want to scare yourself just look straight down.

Nice Dogbreath, I actually did the falling for the cable. Had to cut a line from the valley to top station of each mpuntain for the cable to be winched up each side. One cable no splice. So worth checking out, glad you had a good day. It was epic up here today in the mountains, I was up sledding.

any idea the diameter of that cable? A die-maker in the wire-rope industry is curious about that! I read the cable actually failed in the trial run, and one of the strands burst....a specialist from europe had to be flown in to handsplice that big ******* of a cable....pretty impressive!

I hoped on it for opening day. Just happened to be riding that day and the line was quite small so we decided to do it. Pretty high up and with some wind, it can be kinda unsettling.
