Panther t4 kicker steering

Hey guys. For any of you that have the panther t3 or t4 with the big black box on it I have something to share. Well I am on my 4rth one all warranty they give me one each year this product is great however not built to withstand the harsh elements we fish. The rubber seal that's between the plastic covers for the motors is junk you will have to silicone the **** out if it. I just grabbed my boat from my bros and I am working on it right now , well this is the first time in 4 years my panther has worked after storage. I decided to coat my motor box with the same stuff I coat my balls with and man was it sweet. I am opening this offer up to anybody with a panther for $10 but all proceeds will go to a chartity not sure which one yet.

If what I have done will make my panther last another 1-2 seasons I will be happy. 600 bucks for this unit and I'm on 2 remotes and 4 complete new units and like I said its not siezed this time I can only assume its what I have done. Has kept the water out completely. I am actually going to redo mine as the corner was rubbing on the dock all summer when I realized it it was too late. The coating is so tight it didn't matter anyways it's a different method I use to coat my balls now.

Just thought I would share as I love this unit cause I can drive from the driver seat or make food while my buddy's fish or whatever as not everybody knows how to stear the kicker let alone with a remote.

I highly recommend it to anybody using this panther.

Mine's been on my boat for 5 years--never had an issue. My only concern is tearing the motor casing off on the edge of a dock ---it sticks out way too far--

leaking--never heard of that

I dunno sharphooks. Just my experience with it. I also submerg it for a second sometimes but that's like the **** rain of Hardy . My very first one was so rusted out I could have paint my house a rust colour lol. This was the only year I did this cause I was fed up and as I was coating my balls it was right there so i said why not. Well its working . This is the only time it has not seized up after storage so like I said I assume its cause I coated it. I was pretty shocked to see it move lol. 5th year on the boat and its my 4rth one. I have wrote the company letters each time and no hesitation they sent me a brand new unit but enough is enough I just want it to work for a few years at least. The company is stellar but maybe the product doesn't stand up to my abuse. It's not like out there for 3-4 months guiding. I fish hard for a month maybe month and half. Always rince my gear but for some reason this thing did not agree with my boat . If it did not work this year it was going into the trash and I was going to put a steering wheel with cables on my boat for the kicker but now I think I will stick with it.
