Owner hooks

These seem to be highly recommended by a number of anglers. What makes them so good and where can I obtain these ion southern Vancouver Island

They're chemically sharpened like Gamakatsu but thicker wire and different shaped points.

The usual suspects should stock them.

Trotac has them in Vict. I had 3-4 straighten out on me last year, never happened before. Maybe bad batch ??

arnt they laser sharpened then dipped in chemicals to hold the point?

Been using the 1/0 for 4 years now along with the VMC both are every good the worst by far are gammys they straightn out very easily but man are they sharp. over all im lking the owners more and more seems to last for me as im lazy if its dull I just get a new hook... LOL

Same reason I stopped using them, they just can't handle when a guest puts to much pressure on a fish - they aren't newby friendly. I went back to good old eagle claw and take the time to sharpen really well.

What size????? as i use the 2x strong 1/0 and trust me have had heavy hands play them... LOL LOL and never had one straigten out???

can't remember now, haven't fished them for a couple of years. Are the 2x beefier then regular stingers - that could be it?

the hooks are soo sharp.. i've had treble hooks buried in fishes mouths with all three points. even had to cut the hooks out. you can get them at the harbour chandler in nanaimo

It's all I use for steelers. I've been using them since before they were cool, and they are great... in my opinion. Never tried them in the chuck, but there's no good reason for that. Never had one straighten.

ive never had a 2x bend out not like the other brands..... thats one tough hook!!!!

9/0 or 10/0 and are the best hook I have used for dinos.... which reminds me, time to buy some more!

I agree I hate the regular barbless Gammys (Straightened 3 out in one day ....wasnt fighting them too hard either) just way to flimsey!! The last 4 years I have gone to the gammys in both 3x and 4x and no one is going to straighten one out on a salmon and they are nice a sharp!!

I used to use the gammy's but had a few strighten out, then i saw that they had the 3x and 4x strong so i went to those and thought they were awesome. I also tried the Owner's last year and thought they were just as good. I was in a well known tackle shop in Vic. a couple of months ago and grabbed a pack of 1/0 Gammy treble's 3X strong, there was no price on the rack, so jus grabbed them and went to pay, there were over 14 bucks with tax for 5 hooks, i put them back. The Owner's and VMC seem to be a way better deal for just as good or better hook.

I switched over to the Matzuo sickle siwash and sickle octopus depending on what I'm fishing and love them.
