have been going to PY marine in port and they are excellent but looking for some one of the same caliber on this side of the hump(qualicum/parks) for some basic upkeep on 2002 engines-- any suggestions???? dont mind going further than p/q area

going to pick up the boat this morning- impeller / leg oil/check plugs / routine maintenance -- no surprises- thanks muttley

Im going to use Clint at Marine Express on monday... Ive heard some good things...

I used another guy in Coombs who says he's been an marine mechanic for 18yrs...."Younger guy who says all the right things"
Terrible and dangerous... we almost sank off Nanaimo because he didn't seal around the bolts properly when he mounted my motor.... He screwed everything up he worked on and blamed it on something else....
I paid a ton of money and now Im having to do it all over again....

I have high hopes for Clint,

I also have used Dave at All Marine for 2 years now. He takes care of my boat like it is his own and I've never had a problem.

Had the fellas at Parksville Boathouse re-work a few things that got royally screwed up by a local shop (no need to get into that here). Was pleasantly surprised by their speed, service, efficiency and price. Likely be going back: http://parksvilleboathouse.com/

Cheers,

Glad it worked out lordofthesprings. Clint has always been a straight shooter, though sometimes I don't like the news he has for me!

The boys at A&E marine Courtenay.. so far have treated me pretty good would recomend..

You are the first person I have ever heard mention using A&E. I got hosed by them when I first moved to the Valley and only ever went back to track down parts. They always had the parts new or used I needed for my old Johnson. Did they move or close their doors?
