I have a 2006 115 optimax with about 230 hours on it, runs like a top but beeping from the alarm every few minutes(4 beeps). I installed VesselView at the beginning of summer and below are the codes I get, I am not sure what is relevant and what is not but water in the fuel seems to really concern me. See the codes below. Wondering which codes to worry about and which not to any advice would be awesome. Also any thought on the alarm, this all started 4 weeks ago when we were out at Thormanby island fishing in rainy nasty weather and waves. What I have done so far is top up the oil, drain some fuel from the external fuel/water filter, there is also a water filter in the motor, empties that and reprimed the fuel line. I’m booked into the shop Tuesday but if I could solve it on my own I could save $$$$, lol. I only use non ethanol fuel and add fuel stabilizer, I didn’t see any water in the fuel. Plus I am missing all the fishing! Thanks everyone for your help!

Check all you connections on battery and engine Too many codes something is loose or dirty on the electrical side
Optimax need good batteries, what are the condition, age of yours? At rest engine off batteries should be 12.6-12.9 v.

Thanks I will look at the battery, I only have one but it seems strong but is 7-8 years old. I have a couple of optimax AGM’s to put in just haven’t got around to it.

i would change the batteries if you have them. 7 year old batteries were on borrowed time 2 Years ago. mercury engines are very voltage sensitive

We had to use take of the vent cap of the oil reservoir for 3-4 minutes while it was idling I believe to get the 2 stroke oil system to properly work. Might have been longer as it took a couple tries. Then the beep stopped. This was on bigger optis if I remember correctly
Burping the oil tank.

Is the on engine oil tank full to the brim?

Ok now I am totally confused, I changed the battery to a new Optima, I lost track of the wires as it was tight in the compartment and hard to work in there, I reconnected everything and now my bilge pump works with the float but not the switch, the switch is constantly lit up as if its calling for it to be on but it is not running, if I lift the float it runs. Also my Vesselview is always available, even with the ignition off, like the motor has constant power, not sure what i could have connected incorrectly, plus the power to the vesselview and the bilge seems to come from the main battery cable!! I still have the 5 codes but the alarms seem to have stopped and the water in fuel seems to have cleared. Argh HELP!! lol btw thanks for all the advice!!

You should only use a standard starting type battery. Not deep cycle or agm.

The level sensor in the engine compartment oil tank. Remove cowling and find the small oil tank on the powehead.

Added oil in the motor mounted reservoir, I don’t have an external one. No water in any of the filters in the motor or external.
