Hey guys I'm looking at aquiring a boat through a straight across trade. It's an 16 foot Saber Craft bowrider, 1995 Mariner 50hp, 9.9 Merc kicker, galvanized trailer, unkown fishfinder, I haven't seen it yet but he says it's almost mint condition in and out. Any ideas what it might be worth? Thanks in advance.

Sorry forgot to add a picture.

Are you sure about the make ?, looks like a riveted alum smokercraft
I had a 4 cyl merc 50hp, same as the mariner which was a good old motor.
My guess, somewhere in the 3-4 k price range

That's about the range I was thinking too. As for the kicker it's apparantely a '95 also.

I agree with the price range mentioned. The boat would be OK for inside coastal waters on good weather days. I too had a 50 hp 80's merc that was reliable but not that fuel efficient for it's size. The boat's going to pound in more than 1 ft chop but for the money it get's you out there. I would take it for a run before buying and confirm the hull is not leaking and the power runs OK. An older glass hull will ride better.

Have a look through used victoria and see what else you can get for the same money.

Thanks for the all the replies guys but it's a done deal. I would have definitely done some shopping around if it was a cash lay out but like I said originally, it was a trade for something I haven't used in 8 years and basically lost interest in. I think the boat will be fine for around the Nanaimo area, besides I'm a fair weather fisherman, if there's a hint of wind or rain I stay home.
