wish some company would jump on the idea of bringing out a set of pliers just for squeezing down the eye on open ends normal ones i tend to either crack and snap or just dont get it closed enough for my true liking .....

Knipex pliers wrench does a perfect job of this. Jaws move in parallel rather than scissoring. Also excellent for crimping off barbs. Not cheap ($80-90), but precisely the right tool for these jobs.

Interesting, I have no issue with closing the eye, but pinching barbs on the water is always unsatisfactory for me.

My better half got me the 3-pack of these for xmas a couple years ago. Absolutely excellent tools, and also really handy for sheet metal work.

Yeah she’s also pretty handy with the net, and she puts up with my grumpy butt too! I got pretty lucky there.

Anyway what was this thread about again, swivels?
