If I'm not mistaken...
July(ish) we would be tied up at the same dock as Nog in Ukee and would spend the shore nights jerking these things up all night.....GREAT FUN...Pissed of some commercials guys as there was ink EVERYWHERE [)]
....Yup, head back to the boat an start fishing on a week long trip....those were the daze.
And yeah.... they are damn tasty too... typical squid jigs and if they are there youll see them
Pat i jigged them up a few times off the beachcomber dock. We went down there late at night and there was schools of them. We just snagged a few for bait. Lots of weird stuff at night in the water. Saw a lingcod/rockfish swimming along the surface, huge worms ect
Great, thanks for the tips. We want to get out and try to jig up some. They are great eating!! I heard in Seattle there was quite the hard core group of guys who fished from the docks all winter long. Was hoping someone on the forum had tried and could point me in the right direction on how to jig them up and where to try in Port Alberni area.
In the day I used to fish 'em, you just never hear about them anymore. Anyone seen them in the SCVI area?
And those "worms" are pretty creepy when you see them, I remember a few years ago at Cheanuh when we had that big storm, the water was thick with those things, they were all around 14 inches long.
