cant speak on his behalf ,
players rarely play where there friends and family are from ,
gonna guess most players are just ecstatic to finally be in the nhl and workin , tryin ta put myself into Mcdavids head space here ,
most kids and eventual nhl'ers biggest dream , is winning the Stanley Cup one day ,
careers are shorter it seems these days , so your window of opportunity is limited , somthin like your Vancouver Canucks ,
that window is almost gone , your team stars are on there downslide , like it or not , hence the rebuild in progress...
Edmonton's window is barely even cracked yet , pretty sure i know where i'd wanna go , regardless if its a Edmonton Buffalo
or any other less desirable place to live 6 months a year , dont forget , these guys are on the road half the season livin the dream , playin a sport they love ,
and doin it all first class , im confident that if David does get picked by the Oilers , he will have the BEST chance at a Stanley Cup sooner than later,
its reality ,
there will be changes in personnel management and also marquee players ,come this summer , thats a given ,
, i expect to hear some somewhat shocking things to happen before the puck drops next year , time will tell
look forward to seein him in person coming season , welcome to the NHL David !! enjoy
gd luck to your canucks in the playoffs...hope the sisters figure out how ta play extended season!! and soon !!
gonna go put my brown bag back on , wait another year lol...
later , im done here

Agreed. Vancouver will be stuck in mediocrity and continue to just make the playoffs and 4 or 5 games and out until we learn to tank for 8-10 consecutive seasons, have a lucky feather and horseshoes up our collective butts and chant incantations to get top 5 first round picks for what 8 or 9 years in a row? ( and 3 first overall picks) and finally have so much underwhelming talent that we have no option but to get better. ;-)Sad to say as a Canuck fan, but I think the Coilers are closer to a cup than the Nucks. Prove me wrong PLEASE but we will never win the cup with the twins leading the charge. Oilers are getting better and the Canucks are getting older.

What is really tough to watch is all that talent going to Edmonton to continuously be wasted by inept management.
I guess jealousy will get me nowhere.....
I am hoping that our savior (Benning) will be able to get us out of the middle ground we are destined to be mired in for a long time.
Whoa, Felix lays it down...nice one.
Agreed the management is inept but the players have a long ways to go.
As for the Canucks, let's give the new management time to so its work. We have one of the best scouts in the world working for us.
Yeah, wasted. Your own sports guys are already calling to trade Yakupov, trashing the heart of Nugent-Hopkins and wondering if Hall is too frail due to all the injuries and his style of play being too reckless. That is all 3 of your first overall picks. Seems that the natives are a bit restless. This is your sports guys talking.Wasted ??
(they're) And yeah they have a lot of good years to go. At 22, 23, and 24 the Nug, Hall and Eberle will have many good years if they can get past all the negativity and jerseys tossed down by your own fans.....there kids lol , there just starting ?
Get a sense of humour, Felix. After 10 years of basement dwelling, you're about to crawl out from basement and be a good team. As I said, jealousy will get me nowhere. After 10 years of relative silence on this topic, we can all anticipate how you will soon spout how great your new team is and you can trash the team where you live even more.no respect from that rediculous comment ,
It is not necessary for me to claim to be better qualified to manage, in order for me to identify inept management in Edmonton. I guarantee that any other team with 3 first overalls and 7 picks in the top 10 in the last 8 years would have done a hell of a lot better managing that amount of talent wealth than Lowe has. So, yeah, Inept DOES fit the bill.perhaps look back at Ur Sedins , how well did they do when they started the first few years
, weighin in at a soakin wet 160 lbs ? perhaps you should go manage them , teach them how to man up and win a cup
Vancouver style
Ive got 2 x 15lbers with ur name on em for a case of Cervesa's Guy ,if ya want em ,
still have ta pour em
headin out west for a week , buzz ya when we get back

gonna be the devils advocate here - look how long Penguins sucked - picked up Fleury 1st in 2003, picked up Malkin 2nd in 2004, Crosby 1st in 2005 and Staal 2006 - they sucked a long time, got 4 years of serious picks, and have since won the cup and are a threat every year.
Fastforward 5 years - Edmonton takes Hall 2010, Nugent 2011 Yakupov 2012 - should they be doing something by now, maybe, but ever consider maybe the talent over those draft years just wasn't there? You look at the stats, those 3 draft picks are right up there with the best - only other good ones was Seguin (drafted 2nd but less PPG than Hall, Tarasenko, only just woke up this year, and Palat (well chit, everyone missed him!) Even last years Draisaitl - damn, he picked apart the friggin Royals all night long in the 2nd round - that kid is brilliant. What I see, them adding McDavid, who Gretzky calls the best since Lemieux/Crosby, I could see them being a powerhouse in 2-3 years. No way if I was Edmonton would I consider trading, and if I was McDavid, I'd have to think the writing is on the wall in terms of potential.
Just sayin.
