Oh my pod. Abandoned 24 Zeta command bridge.

New windshield glass, wet sanded and polished some gelcoat, started sanding and painting the interior surfaces, new stainless rub rail.
Once I had the floors sanded and painted with gelcoat I started to put the interior back together. There were a couple pieces of wood that needed to be replaced, but generally it was very well preserved on the inside. The entire boat came with brand new upholstety throughout. all the bolsters, seats, v berth cushions, helm seat, everything was brand new. The stuff outdoors got beat up and the wood backing was rotten so everything in the cockpit got chucked. Inside was relatively nice.
This boat was part of an estate sale. I found out afterwards it came with a basement full of brand new upholstery in storage. Plus fishing gear, life jackets, spare parts etc. I started to see the potential now that the inboard outboard conversion was almost complete, all the rotten wood was replaced with new. The windshield was watertight, stainless hand rail rebedded.

She’s looking good! I question the stern though, if it’s going to be podded I assume? Is there any coring material from the new ply outwards to the gunwales? Seems like a large span to be relying on just a middle section of coring on the transom. I looked at a 24’ zeta a few years ago as a project, the numbers on the hull were great. Iirc it had a variable deadrise of 20ish degrees at the keel and then jumped up to 23ish degrees towards the chines. Should make for a soft ride and fairly stable at rest. A lot of glass in those hulls!

Interprotect epoxy primer done after stripping bottom. I think it was 4 coats total alternating between the white and grey and 2 coats of micron csc.

Took it to Highliner trailer to get the trailer dialed in. Bill at Highliner is awesome. I was towing it around as i found it which was a bit sketchy. Had no issues but didnt want to risk it. New tires new lights new hitch new brakes and most important we had to move the axels as far back as possible. Adding a pod, outboard to the rear after removing imboard completely shifts the weight distribution. It tows like a dream.
