Nylon Netting

Hey everyone,

I just got my hands on something of interest.

It's nylon netting, two inch squares, 50#+ test range, that is extruded in about a two-three foot diameter tube.

I know, you're thinking "what the * would that be good for?". Well, stick a frame inside of it and you have instant crab traps. Just fold the two ends into the trap/frame entrance at each end and go fishing. Tie one end of the tube to the entrance frame with cotton cord, and if you lose the trap, the entire end of the trap eventually opens to release what's inside and stops fishing.

This stuff is really strong, waterproof, and best of all, cheap.

Is there anyone out there that has access to some inexpensive metal that could be used to fabricate frames? Or for that matter, that would be interested in building a bunch of traps with me?

I literally have hundreds of feet of this stuff. Once I get a chance to give it a try I'd be happy to give some chunks away to anyone interested. Any takers?

I was not wondering what the * you were thinking or what you were going to use it for. I was wondering what inspired you to start gill netting.

This isn't gill netting.. It's actually something they use at work on a seasonal basis. Once the product it goes with sells out, the extra goes in the trash. If I can build traps on the cheap rather than pay store prices, then I'm going to do it. If I can help someone else save some bucks then I'll do that too.
