It doesnt say no bottom bouncing.So until it says no bottom bouncing there will continue to be flossers.[}]

If people continue flossing on the Fraser, it seems pretty clear from this notice that the DFO will close the river to all Salmon fishing. The legitimate fishers need to pressure the flossers from the bars. If not, river fishers will probably end up with no summer Salmon fishery because the flossers can't restrain themselves.

Unfortunatley a lot flossers are rednecks who don't give a crap. I did it for one season a few years back and still feel guilty . Thats not fishing, its snagging.

I am not a river fisherman so excuse me if I am missing something... I totally agree with the statement above. Is this not clear enough? : "avoid using fishing methods such as bottom bouncing that catch sockeye salmon and use methods that are selective" Flossing Sockeye is a meat fishery anyway so if the flossers have to release Sockeye why bother flossing when you might kill a few - is that fun to floss and release ? .
In the saltchuck the bulk of us are now using methods to avoid hitting Sockeye. We are still getting them but less than with proper methods.
It may be difficult for DFO to temporarily make it a law to stop one normally legal method of fishing, I am not sure....because otherwise why aren't they legally ending it. Either way don't floss guys ...its pretty clear to me. It would be alot easier for DFO to close the fishing completely so I sure hope the flossers don't ruin it for the rest of you.

They will continue to floss because they are to inept to catch fish on the Fraser by any other methods. Instead of flossing the Sockeye for the freezer, they will be attempting to floss the springs. They really don't care how many fatalities they cause in depressed runs. These are the bottom feeders of the angling world. Ethics, morality, concern for the fish or other anglers doesn't even cross there mind.
