Was at the Boat Show and, Olympic Boat Center has a great deal on a Bay 1802 Trophy. Comes w/a 135hp Merc Opti and a trailer for $23K.
There is a guy on CL Van trying to sell an older Trophy w/a FORCE engine for the same!
I am not affiliated with these guys but, that is 1 hell of a deal and an eye opener to anyone attempting to flog there older rigs.

Hey I have been looking at Harbourcraft, Hewescraft, and Thunder jet boats,...what do you guys think from your experience???

I'm pretty sure that Bayliner is the only major manufacturer that has adjusted their prices to reflect the change in the US/CDN $. I'd expect them to do pretty well for a while until the other dealers realize that they can't get away with scr****g the Canadian market anymore.

Not that I'd EVER buy a fiberglas boat given where I live, but hat's off to Bayliner for giving good pricing to the Canadian market.

Wish Mercury would!!!!!!!!

See page one about half way down..... Seaswirl 21 WA was one of the best deals at the show. I think its a superior boat to the same trophy and the one they had at the show was listed at $47K and change with a trailer and all the goodies to get onto the fishing grounds. Seemed like a good deal to me

NEW ?????
I have been watching these boats for almost a year now, and that
is an unbelievable price !!
most used ones are more than that.

I looked at the Sea Swirls and the Prolines, and I'm starting think the Proline may be the better choice. What about the Prolines? Are they any good? The Sea Swirls in the 21 and 23 don't have fish boxes in the floor but the Prolines have two nice boxes. The Sea Swirls' wiring is a nightmare. The Proline have awesome wiring. I also like the transome layout on the Proline 23 for the door and the flat space to stand on next to the outboard. What do you guys think?

Uh oh, looks like me and RS Craven are looking for the same boat, although he has 6 months on me in the search. I'm waiting for the right deal, which translates to one so cheap that even my wife can see we'd be crazy not to spend a huge amount of money to save so much. ;)

I think $23k for a brand new one is a really good deal in Canada. If you search iboats, you can find a half dozen for $22-25k new in USA, but mostly central or eastern US.

Yesterday I saw a listing for a 2007 Striper 18' with 10 hours for $18k on yachtworld, but then the fine print: bank repo, on auction, $18k estimated value. In Florida too.

Best deals I've found used so far, in my range, is $13k for a 2000 Trophy 1802 with low hour 2 stroke 125 Merc, or $11k for same without a trailer. The similar vintage ones on South Island are asking $19-20k. I agree with poster earlier, the high prices here aren't sellers trying to rip anyone off, just a reflection of what they paid originally (probably above $30k?) and what the local market will bear -- for those unwilling to take a chance south of the border.

Anyone else notice how few boats have been posted in the last month? Hopefully the boat show will stir things up.

Hi Red Monster, I have the 2101 Sea Swirl WA hardtop and you are right about the wiring, a nightmare. It does have two fish boxes however they are under the two seats and somewhat of a challenge to clean out. I use the 36 gallon live well most of the time for the fish and found that shaved ice will last around three days if you fill it up. The Sea Swirl is a really heavy boat which is a negative to haul, especially if the fuel tank is full however, it is incredibly stable in the water. I paid $38K in Oregon with a 150 hp Yamaha and an 8 hp HT Yamaha trolling motor and electronics. The boat had 8 hours on it and was absolutely pristine. Striper Sniper

I was also looking @ the 18'and was told by olympic in nanaimo they are still made with wood stringers, and don't perform very well in rough seas.I thought all new trophy's had fiberglass stringers?I like that size of boat, currently we have a 17' northwest aluminum, but the boss says it's to small and wants a 21'.

We also looked at many boats before purchasing a 21' Campion Allante 625 cuddy. Lots of room for fishing and storage, excellent stability, and handles off shore very well. A great versatile investment.

I was down at the boat show last weekend, I have had an eye for the Seaswirl 2101wa or 2301wa but the boat I thought was a better boat was the Proline 23' express, huge insulated fish holds in the floor and bench seats that easly fold out of the way. The only problem is there aren't many dealers on the West Coast so I don't know what kind of deal I can get.

Have a look:http://www.prolineboats.com/Page3236.aspx

Are you sure?I'm just going by what i was told by the dealer. On the trophy website under features for each boat the 1802 is the only one that doesn't say fiberglass foam filled stringer system, all the other models state this. They must have forgot to say it on the 18 i guess.I'm gonna contact trophy and find out, that 18 is a nice little unit.
