Negotiating a New Truck Purchase

Are you talking MSRP (sticker price) less the incentives? If so, yes, you are leaving some of your money on the table.....

Depending on the value (cost) of the vehicle, demand for the vehicle, length of time in dealer stock etc... will dictate what you can offer..... and have accepted.

Send me a pm and I will see if I can help you out.....

Mike

Thanks Mike, I dropped the 2013 F250 I was dealing on becuase the salesman would not move off the MRSP of 51K, less the 6K incentive they have on until the end of Jan. They also had a further 3K if I was a costco memeber , which I am not (and it requires you be one before the sale started which ment it was impossible to become on and get the 3K) . So in summary 46K for a F250 Crew Cab was a bit to much for me (pre tax). Further , they dont have any Reg cabs F150 or F250's because they dont sell ???? weird I would buy one . O well maybe time to leave the ford nest .... after 35 years and 4 new vehicles !!

Regular cabs are going the way of the dinosaur ..... many dealers will keep some base work trucks in stock but that usually is about it. Same with the extended cab, not a lot of interest in them anymore (except again for some businesses so they have secured storage)..... crew cabs are the biggest sellers because there is not a lot of choice for people who want to tow and carry people!

Where are you located? There are many dealers that think they "own" the town they are in and can set any price they want to.....I think it was good you walked because just off the cuff, I think you should ahve been able to get at least a couple more grand off if he was quoting you MSRP less incentives.....if you are still interested, let me know and I can do some shopping for you.....

One of the biggest questions is are you dealing in cash? Financing also gets a good grip on you...... many people I help with this is I tell them to get a secured line of credit..... cash still does have its advantages!

If it flies, floats, or f**ks, rent it. I know too many guys who have bought out there lease for $12,000 only to have the warranty expire and then the front end needs everything replaced costing you thousands, then the EGR valve goes...no big deal until that EGR is on a brand new truck then your repair bill is over 1K, Then you start getting into computer and engine issues and your probably paying double what your lease was after you pay the buy out... Lease it then give it back to them. You do not want to own anything without a warranty.
