Needlefish Hoochies with Mylar Insert

These were some I used on the west side when the all the fish were gorging on sand lance. Glad I stocked up on those great skirts years ago. I rig the same as Derby with the tandem red gamis
Also have a few Plano box of those, leftover from fishing south bank, never use them anymore

Oh my, I thought that was a P-66 or J-66 I have a few that are close. So hard to find the good old colours these days. I feel like I have a hoochie addiction and need to enter a treatment program. Top one I think is the 155

Bottom one I believe is the grass hopper :)

I have a few more weapons I ordered from PNT. I like to use inserts, but they're not so readily available in the smaller needlefish size so I'm making a few. I especially like the Pistachio with pearl mylar. Also pictured at left is a G26LBD. I have a some 3/0 Gamakatsu hooks which I decided to use.

Is the one on the left the TRex in needlefish size? At least that is what we call the larger one. It is deadly at first light but retires when the sun comes up.

Yes, the G26LBD is the same as the T-Rex octopus hoochie, which I also purchased at PNT and rigged with a siwash hook.

Grand Slam Bucktails make a custom insert for a local fishing store. Has the head of the micro GSB with the length of the needlefish. If you want to know more let me know. They are killer. Full size hoochie in pic as i don't have a needlefish hoochie nearby.

I order some of these and they got delivered quickly. They look awesome… so awesome a couple of my buddies took some. Will be ordering more.

For rigging, I like a large single hook. All the different ways of trying to get the hook to the back of the skirt, I’ve now just gone with a single bead in the head, and very small hard plastic tubes that I cut to size, swivel and open end hook, that I can cut off and put new on very quickly.
