navionics sonar charts

Has anybody downloaded these yet ?i don't think they are available for download on ipad witch is what I use for GPS.opinions?

I haven't but have read if you use your iphone as a hot spot you can run the Ipad 2 if you don't have a 3g model with data. Would be a pretty sweet screen to use with the high definition and touch screen if it's not already here it's just around the corner.

Ya I run the ipad 4 retina 3g using the navionics apps no complaints so far

The wifi ipad 2 doesnt have gps unfortunately. I'm trying to find an android app that works in Canada. Anyone know of any?

Bad Elf makes a "puck" that makes the ipad2 gps capable. I just bought one from ebay for 85 $. Im a big fan of the navionics charts, have been using them on my iphone for quite a while.

Since buying a navionics chip for my chartplotter was going to be 200 or more it was actually cheaper for me to buy the puck, navionics app for the ipad and a ram mount. I am just waiting for the ram mount to arrive to get everything rigger up but already am happy with the setup.

I bought it for the iPhone and I have it on the iPad. Both are pretty good. Although they do state they are for reference only. Which is pretty self explanatory.
