Cheers All,

As KillFish is down, perhaps we may use this form to keep track of the Nanaimo area.

I have been out quite a few trips in the last few days and the evening bite has been much better than the mornings. East side of Gabriola Island has been producing some springs ... biggest was 28 lbs in 220' of water and 175' down using Coyote Cop Car.

Killfish wants to charge $60 bucks to register to its site, never found it worked that great during the time I was on it... for that price i better get a rub and a tug. Anyway I should be out next weekend with report.

Too bad about Killfish going down. But at $60 to register on the new site I'm afraid that I won't be going there.

I heard that Killfish is in the process of being run by third parties and hopefully the price will be fair. The service and information reported on Killfish in my opinion has been great and guys like Hotrods and FishingGuide have been great with the input given. Lets hope for a new site quickly ! My $.2 worth

Cheers All,

Fish are still holding off Gabriola. Most fish are in the 24-25 lbs. I spent the weekend fishing on the West Coast. One day in Port Alberni...limits of sockeye and great weather. Back home to clean up and change gear. Then off to Ucluelet...limits of springs and coho and, again, great weather.

Now back to local fishing and hoping ex-KillFish begin reporting here. Let's hear from you....

I agree with Fishing Guide. The more eyes and ears out there the better off we will all be.
Wind is dropping nicely, so I am going to give Thradher a rub. I will report tomorrow

Cheers All,

I have a charter tomorrow in Nanaimo and the reports tonight show that Gabriola is still holding large fish. Will report tomorrow after clean up.

As an aside I have heard that another guide has started a new site to fill the void left with the demise of KillFish. I was surprised that some of the old friends from KillFish have already found the site called www.fishingvancouverisland.org which has a significant amount of info about the Nanaimo area. I wish him only the best as his success is our success as the more ears and eyes we have the better our success.

Fish the evening at Thrasher on all the tacks that have been producing some nice fish over the last couple of weeks but nada. I was not there for the change, but did did fish through the fading light which has had a bite lately.

What the hell. Flat water, beautiful woman, bottle of wine to wash down the octopus on crackers - life is good.
